Turkey Sandwich with Apples and Apple Butter

Yummm, what a great way to use some of the left over Thanksgiving turkey. If you have any cranberry chutney left add that too. Be creative, think outside just eating a plain turkey sandwich. What other ideas can you think of? Send me a message and let me know.

Ingredients:

  • 8 slices Rye bread
  • 4 thick slices Swiss cheese
  • 1 large apple, cored and thinly sliced
  • 8 slices turkey- or as much as you want to add
  • 1/2 cup apple butter

    Instructions:

Spread the apple butter on one side of each slice of bread. Top 4 slices with apples, Swiss cheese and turkey. Top with remaining bread slices and serve.

    Terri's Tips:

  • I recommend a tart apple like Granny Smith
  • You can always add lettuce
  • Use your favorite cheese
  • Heat the sandwich under the broiler to melt the cheese
