Chicken Wings, Sweet and Spicy Hot

One of my favorite non traditional chicken wing recipes. This one has a little kick to it.

Serves 8-10 people
Prep Time: 15 minutes
Total Time: 1 hour 15 minutes

Ingredients:

  • 6 pounds chicken wings
  • 1/2 cup chicken broth
  • ½ teaspoon garlic powder
  • 1/3 cup brown sugar
  • 1/4 teaspoon cayenne pepper (add more to taste)
  • Kosher salt to taste
  • 2 tablespoons melted butter


    Instructions:



    Preheat oven to 350 degrees F.
    For the rub, mix together garlic powder, sugar, pepper and salt. Brush chicken with butter. Sprinkle chicken with spices and rub into chicken. Pour broth into a baking dish that is large enough for wings to be in a single layer, add wings and cover. Bake for 45 minutes, uncover and continue to cook 15-20 more minutes until chicken is tender. If chicken begins to dry out, add more chicken broth or water.
