Stir together the hoisin sauce, vinegar, soy sauce, orange juice, zest, ginger, and red pepper in a small saucepan. Heat on low for 15 minutes to infuse flavors. Can prepare the sauce and keep refrigerated for several days.Terri's Tips:
To create a thicker sauce, add 1/2 teaspoon cornstarch
To cook carrots, slice and place in microwave steamer with 1/2 inch water. Cook on high until carrots are slightly tender
Serve sauce over the carrots
